1905年，黑道鬼逍堂血洗了丰城石家，但并未找到传说中袁崇焕的宝藏。24年后，天瀑寺的一茗大师又死在了鬼逍堂的手下，其俗家弟子上官云峰根据他留下的线索，一路追踪宝藏的踪迹，终于查明了自己的身世，原来他是当年石家灭门惨案里唯一的幸存者——石家的小儿子。而众人寻找的藏宝图就画在他的背上，就在此时，与上官云峰刚刚相认的亲生母亲被鬼逍堂的人抓住，威胁他交出宝藏赎人。上官云峰凭借自己的智慧找到了宝藏，但却陷入了两难境地，他到底是放弃民族大义将宝藏交给黑道，还是置母亲的安慰于不顾？。Written by the director himself, the story revolves around an “absent” hero: an astronaut lost in the emptiness of space.
