In the meantime, all members of the intelligence departments receive death threats from an unknown group called "Shadow"....。乌尔里克（斯特兰·斯卡斯加德 Stellan Skarsgård 饰）刚刚结束了长达十二年的牢狱之灾，重新获得自由的他好不容易找到了一个小小的容身之处，终于能够展开全新的生活。然而，过去却不愿意放过他，很快，他曾经的黑帮朋友们便开始登门拜访，他们坐在一次畅谈过去的辉煌岁月，不仅如此，朋友们还怂恿乌尔里克去向他的仇人肯尼（Henrik Mestad 饰）报仇，当初，就是肯尼害得乌尔里克锒铛入狱。于是，乌尔里克开始跟踪肯尼，却发现肯尼不仅组成了自己的小家庭，还有了孩子，一家人其乐融融。触景生情的乌尔里克放弃了复仇的念头，转而想去探望自己的前妻和儿子。然而，对于乌尔里克的热情，前妻一家人的态度却是拒绝而冷漠的。。
